The New Blackberry Torch

Research in Motion, the Canadian company who are famous for being the masterminds behind such phones as the Blackberry Tour and the Blackberry Storm, have produce a new Blackberry phone that is similar, yet different to all the other Blackberries. The newest Blackberry to hit the market is the Blackberry 9800, better known as the Blackberry Torch. The Torch, which came out on August 12th, is not available yet in Bahrain.

The Blackberry Torch has everything that Blackberry users have come to love about their phones. The Torch still has the Blackberry Messenger, the touch pad, instead of the trackball, and it has a traditional touch screen. The Blackberry Torch also has the brand new Blackberry 6 operating system which allows you to customize your home screen, and stay in the social networking circle, without even signing in to your Twitter or Facebook. For example, if you wanted to put all of the menus or apps that you use the most on the first page, well now you can do that with just the drag and drop the app to the place you want it to appear on your home screen.

The main difference with this Blackberry is the Torch is a slider phone. The Torch still has the traditional Blackberry keyboard, but it is covered up by the slide up touch screen. The Torch also has a 5 MP camera, which is great for taking pictures or recording videos. The new slide look to the Blackberry can be compared to that of the Palm-Pre, but the features of the Torch are already being compared to those of the iPhone 4 from AT&T, the EVO 4G from Sprint and the Samsung Galaxy from T-Mobile.
